Christmas Morning

We had a wonderful Christmas. We opened presents, ate, opened more presents, took naps, then ate some more. The cutest thing Reece said that day: "My heart gets sad when it's not Christmas."

Santa really enjoyed his cookies. Reece wrote him another note that started out "Santa, Please eat cookies but I love you. My stocking is on the coffee table..." Then he started rambling off what he wanted even though I told him it was probably too late for that.
I usually make cinnamon rolls but this time I changed it up a bit...

I thought Caroline would be too young to be excited, but she was thrilled (mostly with bows and paper).

This was the contents of Reece's stocking. Those chairs were gifts from Mamaw and Papaw.

This is the toy that took about 4 hours for me to put together. Luckily, I started the week before.

A helicopter from Coco...

I just couldn't resist...

Caroline got a hold of part of Reece's candy cane and there was no getting it away from her.

Just when Darren and I were thinking, "There's no way a child's Christmas could get any better," Gaga and Papa came (bearing gifts). The plan was to meet them in Ames with Tara and family, but the roads were bad so they came to us.

She has the same "concentration face" as Reece- tongue out.

So sorry we didn't get to see you. We were really looking forward to it. Darn weather. Looks like it is going to be a long winter.

Us too! Maybe in the spring, IF the snow ever melts...
