My Apricot

I've finished my first sewing machine project. It's an apron. When I told Reece he said, "An apricot?" and it was too cute so I didn't correct him. (We obviously don't eat too many apricots around here.) So, here it is, my first apricot...

It is by no means perfect, but I learned a lot, including how to make a ruffle. Not bad for $1.50 of fabric and less than an hour. I can see myself making a few miniature versions in the future for a certain little girl.

It also doubles as a [very feminine] cape...

I love it! I have been in a sewing mood lately too and I found an apron pattern to make, myself. Too funny! Was the ruffle hard? I haven't attempted that yet. My next project is a super easy baby sling...wish me luck!

Yes, Gaga is proud of you and your apricot! Will you be making apron cobbler for dessert tonight?
