Darren has been working a lot. After he's been home for a while (more than the usual twelve hours between shifts), Reece has a hard time seeing him go. He gets pretty sad. Last week, Darren got a call to go to work, and as he was getting ready to go, Reece asked him why he has to go to work. Darren told him that that's how we have money to pay for things like a house and birthday presents. Then Reece goes upstairs, empties his piggy bank, and tells Darren he "can have all his money so he doesn't have to go to work." Pretty cute.
A few days later, Darren was sleeping, and Reece tiptoed in the room and put some money on the dresser. I asked him if that was so Daddy didn't have to go to work. Reece said, "No. That's so he can buy me some taffy at Casey's." Not quite as sweet, but still pretty cute.
