Beggar's Night

Back home, kids go trick-or-treating ON Halloween. Around here, they have what's called "Beggar's Night" and it's not always on Halloween (I think it's always on a weekend?). Story City and Roland have them on separate nights, so we did both. On Saturday, we went to a Halloween party and trick-or-treated around Story City. This is the only picture I have that has almost all the kids, three of the four boys and Caroline...

Reece and Caroline were really into it. I told Reece that even if people gave him chocolate (which he hates) to say "Thank you" and move on (that way I could eat it all later, which I did). Caroline was thrilled with anything they gave her.

On Sunday, we trick-or-treated in Roland, and the first house we went to, one of our neighbors, he stood there and tried to negotiate for about ten minutes because all she had was chocolate. She sent crackers later.

Extras:

  • Reece has a new word, "unormous", as in, "Those hay bales are unormous."
  • The other day I had a terrible headache, and Reece whispered, "Maybe the pain will go down your throat and out your butt." Hmmm...
