Reece and Caroline's Art Party

Two Sundays ago, we celebrated both birthdays with an "Art" Party.

I made the banner out of paint chips from Lowe's. And the paint cans contain art related party favors for the kids.

I made the cakes. They're supposed to look like artist's pallettes. The rest of the food was made by my mom.

I made some tissue paper pom poms for the tables...

...and to hang. I love pom poms! (I am such a dork. And I mean that in the best, possible way.)

There were 14 adults and 7 kids.

I think everyone enjoyed themselves. What's so funny, Mamaw?

Caroline loves being sung to.

They got lots of great gifts, including a Light Bright, globe, race track, Mouse Trap, Moon Sand, a football and more for Reece. Reece wanted a globe so he "could see the whole Earth."

They both got an inflatable jumping toy to share and some personalized books that actually have their names in them.

Caroline got a portable DVD player, Dora movie and book, and this Calico Critters cottage that's a lot like the one I played with when I was little (although it was called "Sylvanian Family" back then). It's kind of more for me right now. I cringe a little every time she tries to take the animals' clothes off. Like I said, I'm a dork.

Keeping with the art theme, the kids decorated their own cupcakes.

And we had an art table that started like this...

And ended like this.
It's funny because a couple of months ago when I started thinking about birthday parties, I was so overwhelmed that I was thinking of not having any parties! Then I turned into a "party planning machine". Darren probably thinks I was more like a "party planning monster." But he didn't say a word about it and was his usual, supportive self.

Once a dork, always a dork. Just kidding. You are a good mom. I am very proud. I do wish you could have picked a better picture of me though. see you soon. Give the kids hugs and kisses from Mamaw.
