Reece's Birthday

Reece really wanted to have a friend party this year, so he chose three friends to invite and we had them over last Sunday.

It was a (loosely themed) Buzz Lightyear Party.

We played one game, did cake and presents, but they mostly played on their own.

One kid couldn't come at the last minute. And this is the only picture where at least one of them isn't ducking under the table.

The next day was his actual birthday, and he wanted a scavenger hunt just like last year. He's really into playing detective and spying lately.

He spotted something good behind the curtain!

We picked out a vehicle that has two seats, thinking he could take Caroline on rides. And the second thing he said was, "And I can drive Caroline!"

I think she likes it a little more than he does.

He cracks me up when he goes in reverse.

And the day after his birthday (as if we hadn't celebrated enough), he had his school party. The class sang "Happy Birthday" to him.

They also put up pictures from his previous birthdays.

This is the first birthday that I've been so emotional. I know it's cliche, but I seriously can't believe he is FIVE! And going to kindergarten next year...
