He did NOT get this from me...

Last night, Darren bought some cupcakes on his way home from work. Reece was immediately drawn to the bright colors...he wanted one so bad. So I gave him one and he wouldn't try it. He wanted to try it, but he just couldn't bring himself to put a bite in his mouth. It was almost as if he was scared. This is the reaction I get with any food that's outside of his (about 5) "safe" foods. I want so bad to make him the fun little snacks and meals that I see in magazines, but he'll never try them. How am I supposed to get him to eat a green bean if I can't even get him to try a bright, blue, yummy cupcake?

Right now, this is what he'll eat:

  • Yogurt (he'd eat vanilla yogurt all day long)
  • Applesauce
  • Crackers (any kind...saltine, graham, bran, etc.)
  • Chicken nuggets/chicken strips
  • French fries
  • Hash browns
  • Cheese quesadillas (this is a big maybe)
  • Cookies (only store bought, white cookies with creme filling...no homemade cookies)

He used to also eat bananas and smoothies (yogurt blended with frozen berries, bananas and shredded carrots snuck in), but he won't eat them anymore. Feeding a toddler is frustrating!

I know -- you can blame me for his pickiness. I'm sorry! I hope you can love me anyway!
