Sweet Dreams

Lately, we've had somewhat of an issue sleeping through the night. Reece is in a toddler bed so he can get in and out of bed as he pleases. We put up a baby gate at his door to keep him from getting out of his room. After many nights of him standing at the gate saying, "Mommy, help!" or "Mommy Daddy room, please!" we let him sleep in our bed with us. I'm not sure if all this sleeping trouble is age-related or because of his new surroundings (or it could be that he slept in our bed for the first eleven months-he was still eating two to three times during the night). And honestly, I'm not completely convinced this is unhealthy behavior anyway...

Well, throughout all of this, I've learned that Reece talks in his sleep. So far this is what I've heard, all while he's sound asleep:

  • "Crescent moon, full moon."
  • "This book, Daddy."
  • "Oh, neat..." followed by something I couldn't understand.

Also, we've begun a process of moving him out of our room. He now sleeps on his mattress on our floor, and we'll slowly try moving it away from our room. Hope it works!
