Random Bits of Craftiness...

...or maybe I should say, "Random Bits of Dorkiness." It's not so dorky that I like making things, but that I make them, take pictures, and upload them for no reason. It would be different if I were selling things, but I'm not. Anyway, here's everything that I've made and taken pictures of since receiving my sewing machine. Of course, you've already seen The Apricot, Playroom, Party, Kids' Room, Pajamas, and Caroline's dresses...

After the apron, I bought a book, Bend the Rules: Sewing as a way to teach myself how to sew. (By the way, I had such a hard time with the apron because I made the entire thing without lowering the presser foot). This little bag was the first thing I tried from my book...

Hand sewn felt cookies...

Hair things for Caroline...

Lollipops for Reece for Valentine's Day...

Felt food for Reece's Birthday, pattern bought here...

Apron from Bend the Rules for one sister's birthday, with a matching one for her daughter (Reece did not want to model it)...

A bag, pattern bought here...

Two skirts for Caroline's Birthday, tutorial found here...

"Pillowcase dress" for Caroline's Birthday, only I didn't have a pillowcase that I wanted to cut up, so I improvised. The idea came from a book I checked out from the awesome Roland Library, Sewing Green...

I made a headboard for our room, all by myself. I cut the wood in the shape I wanted, added foam, batting, and fabric, and had a custom headboard for less than 70 dollars...

Reversible pillow shams...

Another bag...

Another apron and matching hot pads and oven mitt from the book One Yard Wonders...

More hot pads and oven mitts...
I also made a tote bag made for carrying sheet music, but forgot to take a picture. So, maybe the recipient could "dork it out" and take a picture, upload it, and email it to me :)
